Montafon offers 3 sledding runs of 3 to 5 km long, of varying steepness: Kappele-Kropfen run in Hochjoch, Gafresha-Valisera run near St. Gallenkirch and Golm sledding run from   Latschau station to Golm ground station. Taking a cable lift up, it is possible to enjoy sledding the whole day long. Alpine sleds can be purchased in local sports’ stores or leased at inventory leasing centres. For sledding, you would need a pair of strong winter function boots.

There are a number of cross-country skiing routes in Montafon, situated at different altitudes. One of the longest is found in Kristberg skiing area at the altitude of 1500 m. It is about 10 km long. The highest cross country skiing tracks are found in Silveretta Bielerhöhe, at Silvetetta lake at the altitude of more than 2000 m. They are 1.5 and 3.8 km long. In clear weather, there is a panorama view on the peak of Piz Buin and the adjacent peaks.

Snow shoes are handy when one wants to access hiking trails covered with snow. Over winter, in Montafon, there is a number of hiking trails always kept in good using order by the heavy duty snow grooming machines. Stepping in ski shoes however, can considerably enlarge the number of the accessible tracking routes. The Bartholomäberg mountain, exactly opposite to our house, and the mountain range behind it is especially  inviting, as there you can find  a variety of different difficulty hiking routes  and enjoy stunning views over three valleys: Montafon, Silbertal and Klostertal.
